Welcome, Founding Reader

Welcome, Founding Reader

Welcome, Founding Reader.

You reported one of the hundred. That makes you part of the world's smallest book tour, and this page is your official welcome.

The game, in case you joined mid-story

  1. One hundred free copies of Where AI Fits: Part 1 are loose in little free libraries across the Northeast, each with a passport code and a note typed inside the front cover.
  2. Whoever finds one reports the code and the place here, then reads it. It is theirs for now.
  3. When they finish, they leave it in any little free library, anywhere, and the next finder reports the same code. Every report draws the map of where knowledge travels.

What being a Founding Reader gets you

When Part Two is ready, you get the preview edition free, before it is available anywhere else. It comes as a preprint: the book, plus notes about how these books get written, the workflow behind them, and early ideas that may end up in part three. It arrives by email, and that is the only thing your email will ever be used for. No spam, no sharing, no tricks.

What you can do, if you feel like it

Pass the book on when you finish, and tell one person about the game. If the book helped you, the best payment is teaching somebody the folder trick. And if you want to say something back, this website has a place to bring the questions you already have. I read them.

Thank you for picking up a stranger's book from a little wooden box. That small act of curiosity is the whole point of everything I write.

One way or another, things are going to be okay.
