A little courage.
A next step.

Find free support for alcohol, drugs, gambling, difficult habits and mental-health concerns. For yourself. For someone you love. At your own pace.

For information purposes only. This is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or an emergency service. Peer groups complement care; they do not replace a qualified health professional. You can seek professional help without completing this guide.

Find your starting point

Three quick questions match your interests to resources. This is a navigation guide, not a clinical test or a decision about what treatment you need.

About 30 seconds

This guide runs in your browser. Its code does not send or save your answers, and no name, email, diagnosis or location is requested. External resources have their own privacy policies. Standard website hosting/analytics may still apply.

A gentler first step

What happens in a peer group?

Peer meetings offer shared experience and support. Formats, spiritual approaches, attendance rules and privacy practices differ. Check the meeting description, ask about newcomer options and choose what feels workable for you.

What if I am worried about someone else?

Al-Anon, Nar-Anon and NAMI family groups offer support for loved ones. You can also contact a helpline or a qualified professional for guidance. In an emergency, call emergency services.

What do screening results mean?

External screening tools can help start a conversation. They cannot confirm a diagnosis or decide care on their own. A qualified professional can interpret concerns in context. THQ does not administer or score a clinical screen.

Getting professional support

Withdrawal deserves medical attention. Stopping alcohol after heavy, prolonged use can cause dangerous withdrawal. Seek medical help to plan a safe recovery rather than relying on this page or a peer meeting. NIAAA guidance ↗
