Before Chapter 1 · Base camp

Build your path.
Then begin.

Your end goal is to finish this course with stronger judgment: think first, verify what matters, and stay in charge of your choices.

Your starting path

0 / 4 checkpoints
  1. 01Your goal
  2. 02Your learning
  3. 03Your workflow
  4. 04Your commitment

Allow about 10–15 minutes. Use a notebook or your own document. Your checklist is saved on this device.

01Choose a goal that matters to you

Each module gives you a goal and a path to reach it. The course’s end goal is useful judgment you can explain and apply.

Finish these sentences:

“I want to finish this course because…”

“One situation where I want to make better choices with AI is…”

“By the end, I want to be able to show…”

Keep the goal concrete: a decision, a task, or a habit from your own life.

02Reflect on how you learn

Think of something you learned well recently. Look for actions and conditions you can repeat.

What helped you understand it: seeing an example, explaining it, practicing, asking questions, or taking a break?

How did you know you understood it?

What usually distracts you or makes you stop?

What will you try when you get stuck?

Choose a strategy to test. After the first module, judge it by what you can recall, explain, and do.

03Design your learning workflow

Give your goal a repeatable system. Each module has three parts: The Question, Carla’s Walkthrough, and Luna’s Unplugged.

Think → Watch → Practice → Reflect

Think: write your first answer.

Watch: notice the important choices and claims.

Practice: try the activity and keep your evidence.

Reflect: explain what changed and choose a next action.

Write your plan:

  • When and where will I study?
  • How much time can I protect for a session?
  • Where will I keep my notebook or portfolio?
  • How will I reduce the distraction I named?
  • If I miss a session, when will I restart?

Short videos are only part of the work. Allow time to pause, practice, and reflect. You may review completed checkpoints whenever you need.

04Make your first commitment

“My next study session is…”

“Before asking AI, I will…”

“To check my understanding, I will…”

“After Module 1, I will review my workflow and change…”

You are already practicing the course: define your purpose, set limits, check evidence, and keep the decisions that matter.

Your base-camp evidence is your goal, your learning reflection, and your plan. Keep it at the front of your portfolio.
