Your next moves

Make the lesson yours.

  1. Take a values walk and consider a choice you face.
  2. Open the Unplugged Break below. The short video introduces the activity; allow time to complete it away from your screen.
  3. Connect one observation to a value you want to act on.
  4. Complete the chapter reflection and save your portfolio work. Your instructor may run the chapter game and quiz separately.

Your activity / Right here

Bring a notebook. Begin below.

The activity is included on this page. Work on paper or in your own document; keep your first attempt and the evidence you checked.

Luna's Unplugged Break

Luna says: dogs don't scroll. No phones for either of you. About 20 minutes.

Take a values walk with a family member or another trusted adult. If a walk isn't possible, sit together somewhere with no screens.

Ask two or three of these questions:

• What is one value you learned growing up that you still live by?

• When did you keep a value even though it cost you something?

• What would you refuse to do, even if someone smart told you it was the smart move?

Then share one of your three values and why you picked it.

When you get back, write down one sentence from the conversation that you want to remember. Their stories belong to them, so don't post them or paste them into an AI.

Why it matters: people pass their values to each other through conversations like this one.

Values Check

Look back at the three words you circled in Chapter 1. Did they make your final three? If one changed, write one sentence about why. Values can grow as you do.

Exit Ticket

One thing I will keep human this week, and why:

Pause & reflect

What changed in your thinking?

Write one sentence in your notebook. Name what you checked, what you chose, or what you want to explore next.

Read the video transcript

Read along, pause, or return to an idea. This transcript follows the selected lesson video.

Hi, I'm Luna. Dogs don't scroll. We walk. And this week, you're walking with someone. Invite a family member or another trusted adult on a twenty minute walk. No phones for either of you. Ask them: What value did you learn growing up that you still live by? When did keeping a value cost you something? Then share one of your three values and why you chose it. When you get home, write down one sentence you want to remember. Their stories are theirs, so keep them off the internet. See you next chapter.
Before you use an AI tool

Follow your course or institution's rules. Use an instructor-approved tool that permits your age, and meet any required consent conditions. Keep names, contact details, school records, and other private information out of prompts. Use fictional examples when you can.

Learning without an AI account

Follow the demonstration, pause before each answer, and do the reasoning on paper. Discuss what you would ask, how you would check it, and which decisions would remain yours.

About the characters and voices

This course uses AI-created characters and synthetic voices. Carla is an AI avatar. They help tell the story; they are not real students sharing testimonials.

Designed for high-school and community-college learners. Choose examples from your classes, work, and everyday life. Keep your completed work in your course portfolio.
